“PINC has been recognized by the Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine for its green and sustainable practices”

PINC Receives the 2014 Green Supply Chain Award

On December 3, 2014 in Alameda California, PINC was announced as one of the industry leaders in sustainable practices with the “Green Supply Chain Award” from the Supply & Demand Executive magazine.

At the awards ceremony, Barry Hochfelder, editor of this executive’s user manual for successful supply chain transformation, spoke about the increasing adoption of green supply chain practices and the corresponding growth in applications for the 2014 annual awards:

“Leading companies recognize that initiating sustainable practices in their supply chain processes is key towards driving their competitive edge in today’s still-volatile economy, This has been increasingly evident over the past few years and is relatively clear with the large number of entries we received this year—almost 200—for our annual green awards. The increased adoption of green best practices and strategies will only continue to grow.”

How Companies Are Becoming More Sustainable

The “Green Supply Chain Awards” from the Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine highlight innovative sustainable strategies that are being used by global businesses to reduce their costs, become more efficient, increase revenue, and lower their carbon footprint in the process of delivering products and services to their customers. By recognizing companies that are making an effort to become more sustainable, the magazine is serving to educate and inspire other companies to follow in the award-winners’ steps and adopt some of the strategies that are contributing to a green supply chain.

Matt Yearling, CEO of PINC, responded to the honor of being recognized for this award by explaining the approaches taken by PINC to reduce their impact on the environment:

“We’re thrilled to be recognized for our efforts in reducing carbon emissions.” stated Matt Yearling, PINC’s CEO. “PINC’s innovative solutions accelerate trailer moves, optimize move distances and reduce the amount of heavy equipment used in our customers’ supply chains.”

By optimizing networks and freight strategies, PINC has been able to lower the amount of unnecessary fuel that is used in the dock-door to dock-door transportation of goods and cut time wastage. PINC continues to find new and innovative ways to make supply chains more economical and efficient through the use of cutting-edge technologies.
